Portia holds a BA in Anthropology from Mills College, a MA in Cultural Anthropology and East Asian Studies from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Wake Forest University School
of Business. Born and raised in California, Portia lives in North
Carolina with her husband, David and their two kids, Gideon and
Collye Sue and their poodle, Cosmo.
Portia is Chief Marketing Officer at Topcoder, a global crowdsourcing company and subsidiary of Wipro (NYSE:WIT). Prior to Topcoder, Portia served as VP of business development and marketing for Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT), a global climate technology company, where she led mergers and acquisition strategy, brand strategy, and marketing for Trane Commercial Americas.
Portia is a 2x TEDx speaker and co-author of the best-selling
career advice book "Kick Some Glass: Ten Ways Women Succeed at
Work on Their Own Terms" published by McGraw Hill Education.
She is an executive coach, facilitator and frequent keynote speaker and
writes on the future of work, the gig economy and women and leadership.
