You’ve probably noticed that I’ve not been writing much on the blog. After the long, strange trip that was last year’s election, I took a pause to think, refocus and plot my next move.
What did I have to say? How could I write about “mundane” things like parenting and careers when a monumental tectonic shift had just taken place? Our country had elected someone who (in my view) was the antithesis of what it means to be an American.
But after a few months of reflection (and lots of red wine), I got it together. I recommitted myself to the causes I love: I’m a trustee of my local arts council and a member of the advisory board of the Bryan School of Business at University of North Carolina- Greensboro. I recently joined the board of an amazing organization called Gideon’s Promise that provides training and on-going education to public defenders.
I also decided it was time to refresh my blog with a new look and brand to reflect my evolving interests. I also have two big projects in the works that I can’t wait to share with you. Watch this space for the reveal later this summer.
What I know for sure is that’s more important than ever to persist and stay engaged. Thanks for following.
